Meet Dr. Ayesha Ludhani, Berwyn parenting therapist

Creating a safe and trusting environment at home is crucial for your child’s emotional well-being.

When you come to me for parenting therapy, we work together as a team. You know your child or teen better than anyone, and I bring the science of therapy, strategies, and knowledge of child development to the table. In our sessions, I’ll help you cut through the noise and develop strategies uniquely suited to you and your family. I’m not here to judge you, your choices, or your reactions, because I recognize you always want what’s best for your child. Together, we’ll find new ways of connecting to and responding to your child that enhance your relationship and allow you to feel proud of the incredible parent you are.

The constant pressure to parent “perfectly” is overwhelming.

Maybe you hear yourself saying "no" all the time or snapping at your kids because you’re just so tired. The relationship with your teen feels strained because you’re always rejected in your attempts to connect, which only adds to more feelings of defeat. Lately, you've been caught between “Am I doing too much?” and “Am I not doing enough?” You wish kids came with a manual because this part of the journey is something you were completely unprepared for.

It’s hard not to compare yourself to other parents— they seem to “have it all together” while you’re busy doubting yourself, missing that special connection with your child, and sifting through conflicting parenting “advice.” You’re in this cycle of punishments and setting boundaries, but you never see any results. Maybe you’re only doing these things because it feels like how you’re “supposed” to parent and you worry about the long-term impact of your current approach, especially if your child struggles with anxiety, OCD, sleep issues, or avoiding school. You deeply desire to parent differently from how you were raised, it’s hard to know where to start when that’s all you know.

You’re doing everything you know to do, but still feel lost in your role as a parent.

You're not alone.

Navigating the challenges of raising children and teens is hard no matter what—it’s common to feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and uncertain. Therapy can provide you with tools and knowledge to tackle these struggles, helping you build a stronger, more connected relationship with your child or teen.

Become the parent you want to be and the parent your child needs you to be.

Just like adults, children have their own set of challenges and hardships. By understanding and addressing the root causes of your child’s behaviors, we’ll help you dive into deeper empathy so you can feel more connected to your child and cultivate open communication and trust.

FAQS

Frequently asked questions

  • It's natural to wonder if your family's struggles are just a phase or something that would benefit from professional support. Trust your instincts as parents—if something feels off, if stress levels are high, or if you're feeling stuck in patterns that aren't working, it's always okay to reach out for guidance.

I especially recommend reaching out if you're dealing with persistent anxiety in your household, frequent meltdowns or behavioral challenges, or if you've noticed changes in your family dynamics that have lasted several weeks. Maybe your child is avoiding school, everyone seems more on edge than usual, or you're finding yourselves walking on eggshells around certain situations.

  • Yes! I have a great amount of expertise in OCD and anxiety, specifically within children. Here, you’ll learn how to be more aware of your child’s anxiety or OCD and learn different strategies to support them in the long term. Therapy for you and them is a big step, but one that can bring about transformative change and healing. You both deserve to feel more balance and peace in your day-to-day lives.

  • I believe that you know your child better than anyone, and my role is to support and guide you—not tell you what to do.

Using evidence-based approaches like SPACE and attachment-focused strategies, we'll work together to understand what's really driving your child's behavior and develop practical tools that feel authentic to your family.

I'm not here to judge your parenting or offer cookie-cutter solutions. Instead, I'll help you build confidence in your instincts while giving you concrete strategies that actually work. Every family is different, and our work together will reflect that.

  • SPACE stands for Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions.

I help with all kinds of parenting challenges, but if you are coming specifically because your child or teen struggles with anxiety or OCD then I help using SPACE.

It's a way for you to learn how to better understand and help your child or teen who is struggling with anxiety, OCD, or other related challenges like ARFID and Failure to Launch. Instead of focusing directly on the kids, SPACE teaches parents specific strategies to reduce their child's anxiety and improve their overall well-being. It's all about giving you the tools you need to create a supportive environment for your child.

  • We'll start by really getting to know your family: your challenges, your strengths, and what you're hoping to achieve. From there, we'll create a plan that makes sense for your unique situation and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

You'll walk away from sessions with practical strategies you can use right away, and we'll check in regularly to see how things are going and adjust as needed. This isn't about quick fixes—it's about creating lasting change that helps your whole family thrive. I'll be there to support you every step of the way.

  • This is different for everyone! In therapy, we’ll focus on your specific concerns and where you need the most help. Sometimes this will take a longer or shorter amount of time—and that’s okay. There isn’t a time limit or requirement that makes you less or more of a parent—therapy is about progress. The most important thing to me is taking things at your pace and helping you find the answers you’ve been looking for in a way that helps you feel supported and heard.

  • Begin by filling out this quick online form to schedule a free consultation. During our call, we'll talk about what's going on with your family and whether we're a good fit to work together. If we decide to move forward, we’ll set up your first full appointment.
